Flexible and Fantastic!

This cleaner is superb - as simple as that. For a basic model it does everything that it should. It is really manoeverable, as it twists and rotates in different directions so that it can reach even the tightest of spots. The cleaning quality is good, and the results compared to a vacuum with a hose attachment are realy noticable - the Dart cleans much more thoroughly. We've been using it in a school canteen for a few weeks now, and it is reliable, easy to use, and efficient. We are delighted with it and would happily recommend it.

Light, powerful and flexible

We've used the same Sebo for more than eight years without a single problem. But we wanted something lighter and more powerful for a bigger house with lots of carpet, some lino, two kids and a cat.

Dysons are all heavy and we had concerns about reliability - I don't know of many that are still going strong after eight years of heavy use, anyway.

This new Sebo is light but really powerful. We bought the duster brush too, which is excellent at stripping dust and webs from venetian blinds, curtain pelmets, picture tops etc.

The two floor heads (one for carpet and one for hard floors) interchange easily. You can leave the heads off and just use the hose and body for the stairs, which makes light work of it. The height on the carpet head adjusts for optimum performance and the power can be varied, too.

The handle height is adjustable. It's really easy to steer and one side of the head sticks out like a hammerhead shark's eye, so you can whizz easily along under radiators.

Don't be put off by the fact that this vacuum has a bag - it has more than enough power to deal with the job in hand; power is what used to let vacuums down but Sebos are good in this department.

Finally, this Sebo comes in a choice of designs that look either groovy or just neat. That doesn't really matter, since most of the time it's tucked in a cupboard. But a Dyson is a pricey-yet-tacky, plasticised cross between C3P0 from Star Wars and a traffic cone. Yuk.

Excellent value for money!

I completely agree with S. Whittle. After having got increasingly frustrated at expensive domestic hoovers, my husband splashed out £150 on a commercial model. Needing a second and knowing I had a better eye for a bargain I found this model. It's a very good mid-ground between a commercial hoover (heavy weight, large capacity, large motor) and a domestic (telescopic attachments, adjustable power, on-board tools). As the previous reviewer says, the only thing it lacks is a power lead winder! The suction is fantastic and it's an absolute joy, rather than a battle, to hoover the flat. If you need a work-horse, for heavans sake buy whilst it's at this great price!

Disappointing

I bought this from Machine Mart and will be shortly returning it. It simply doesn't do the job properly. The motor is noisy. The suction tubing is metal rather than plastic so it's heavy to hold. The tubing is also shorter than expected, reducing your"push" leverage. Annoyingly, it has a tendency to push dirt along in front of it, rather than suck it up. The bright yellow plastic casing shows up every speck of dirt after using it a couple of times. Plus side? It's easy to pull along because of 4 main wheels. It's compact. Overall, though, not recommended. I have a Karcher pressure washer which is great. Karcher is a good brand. But they just haven't got the hang of vacuum cleaners yet.
