great when it works !

This is a superb hoover When it works ! one week after it's years warrenty ran out the motor went but after a lot of haggeling they (Karcher) replaced the moter FOC. one month after that the handle broke -- £20 to replace, two months after that the push start button stopped working -- £45 to fix that, So all in all the repairs have cost half the price of the hoover --- But when it's working it's a real good hoover !

Cat hairs gone!!!

Hetty arrived yesterday after my 5 year old Dyson broke down for the third time, this time just outside of the warranty period. I looked on various websites for advice on which machine to buy next I wanted a bagless machine although on reading the reviews here on Amazon for the Henry model (Same spec as Hetty but just a different colour) I decided that a Hetty was the answer being a pink person!! You dont even have to use a bag with the machine although I have managed to find a firm who sell a cotton re-useable version of the bag which unzips so you can empty it into the bin outside.

I ordered the Hetty extra which comes with the Ariobrush as an extra as I have 2 cats and was worried that it may not pick up all of the hairs. In addition to this you still get the standard brush. I need not have worried though as the standard brush was brilliant. I went round the house in half of my usual time and it picked up the cat hairs with ease. I needed to use the Ariobrush in couple of areas mainly where the cats sleep at night. The machine is so powerful that you can see the carpet being lifted although dont worry as it has a high and a low speed so you can use the low speed aroung the edges.

The flex is so long I was able to clean the whole house from one plug and Hetty is so light and easy to carry up and down the stairs. The wooden floors in the kitchen area were easy to clean as the standard brush can be altered between being able to clean carpets and hard surfaces. In all this is a brilliant machine and looks great in pink as well if pink is your thing! All of this for a fraction of the price that I paid for the Dyson a real bargain.

IMPRESSIVE!

Got this hoover as I was really having trouble with allergies and dust all over the house from nearby building work. Really made a difference - the HEPA filtration does seem to work, stopped the sneezing and the clear dust container allows you to really see how much dust and muck the hoover collects!! The suction is excellent and it's much better on wooden floors than my previous hoover. It's a bit more expensive than a standard hoover, but if you're troubled with bad allergies, it's well worth it!

Poor product

I bought this cleaner last year, having had a brilliant Hitachi bagged cylinder cleaner for years. It worked OK for a few weeks, but once the filter started clogging up, I was washing it every couple of weeks (a horrible, unhygienic job), and while I waited for it to dry, of course I had no cleaner to use. Last week, the cleaner suddenly stopped working. It really is a poorly designed product, is not suitable for normal levels of cleaning, and its only virtue is it's a bit lighter weight than some. I would advise others not to buy it, it creates more work not less.

i can't believe i paid £61 for this vacuum a little over a year ago and now they are £101 what the devil is going on?

Henry - a star performer!

I am so happy to have another little Henry as my helper! Having previously owned a red Henry for about 10 years I parted with my trusty friend due to the lure of the Dyson - which after two troublesome years I have given up on. (My previous Henry is still going strong in my daughter's home where he has just celebrated his 20th birthday). Henry is powerful, has all the necessary tools for every conceivable job around the house; is manageable in terms of carrying upstairs etc and has an extra long lead which is useful when doing the stairs or hoovering out the car. My only reservation is that it is so powerful you have to watch out for things left on the floor, like socks, ties etc, which will end up nicely sucked down the vacuum hose. A great little cleaner.

Bad Customer Service

This vacuum cleaner had problems right from the start. The Turbobrush kept coming loose (the plastic 'stretched'), thereby losing power contact and, sometimes, coming off (which *hurts* if it drops on your foot!). Dyson sent someone round to mend it, and the fault came back with the very next use. After this had happened several times (about five, I think), I lost patience and asked Dyson to replace the cleaner. They refused, saying that the fault was"mendable". I of course asked why, if it was mendable, they hadn't managed to mend it - but they just did the broken record on me, repeating ad nauseam that the fault was mendable. The cleaner was never usable - it was either waiting for an engineer or it cleaned for a short while and then the Turbobrush came off again. Finally the shop from where I bought the Dyson was good enough to offer me a replacement (non-Dyson). Dyson were unpleasant and unhelpful to them as well - I will never buy from them again. (I now have a 'HyperVac', which is absolutely fantastic (and cost less!).)

Unbelieveable!

Ok so I don't actually own a Morphy Richards 70313 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner but a cleaner that is described by Amazon as"machine washable and tumble dry safe" and"Will fit inside a duvet cover" must be worth having! The fact that it has and I quote:"Rapid heat up" is a bit worrying though......
