Review for Dyson DC08 Allergy Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner Blue/Turquoise:
The first thing I noticed about this vacuum cleaner was how small and compact it is. That's fine for storing it after use but i have to empty it every time I use it.
So much also for Dyson doing away with the bag to prevent lack of suction...if only! The head of the vacuum cleaner just doesn't get close enough upto the edges for me so I have to keep stopping and taking off the head to attatch one of the 3 accessories provided. Incidently these accessories are attatched to the main pipe and swing around wildly while you vacuum making the whole thing top heavy...if you then slide the accessory attatchment down the pipe you will run the risk of suffering bruised knees or ankles.
If you like a nice long flex on your vacuum cleaner too you will be disappointed as you can't get far without stopping and unplugging it to start again somewhere else. For the price I just don't think that the DC08 is worth the money. If you want a good robust cylinder cleaner...get a Henry, you'll have to put up with emptying the bag but hey! atleast it won't be every time you use it!

Awful
I have to say the DC08 Allergy vacuum cleaner is the worst I've ever used. The first thing I noticed about this vacuum cleaner was how small and compact it is. That's fine for storing it after use but i have to empty it every time I use it.

Review for Electrolux Z 7110 Cycloniclite Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner 1800w Purple:
This product is not suitable for use on rugs or carpets
Bought one of these, switched on, tried it on a rug, it was like a Jack Russel, it gripped the rug so hard my wife could not move it,there is a slider on the top of the tube, to realease some suction, but its only the size of 20p piece, and has zero effect on the 1800W motor, not quite so bad on a carpet, but still not a one handed job. Rang Electrolux, they said so you bought the wrong thing, send it back,no where on the box does it say"not suitable for carpets and rugs" BUT Ive just been to Comet and on their own label it does say"not for carpets" only for hard floors!!!!--- be ware80

I bought one of these. It worked okay at first then I started getting the overheating problem other people have reported. When I looked to wash the filters as recommended in the manual I found out that one of the main filters was missing ! Consequently the filter to the engine clogged up more quickly than it should have done hence the overheating. On contacting Hoover they sent me the missing filter without a quibble - which makes me think it is not an isolated occurrence. So Hoover basically have a quality control problem with the stuff they produce. They seem to know machines are going out the door with filters missing and are relying on customers to complain first so that they can identify where the dud batch has gone !
When it works the cleaner is okay. The dust container is rather small and needs frequent emptying but my main gripe is with the limited range of attachments compared to other machines I have used. For cleaning carpets okay, for anything else - e.g. cleaning my car interior - it is useless.
