Compatability with"Tiger"

Although this product worked very well on OS X 10.3, AutoProtect does not work on OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and Norton have yet to release a European edition of Norton Antivirus 10, which will address the compatability issue (as at 20 June 2005).

Good Better than Norton

Ok I updated all the time for Norton's Antivirus. Waste of time. So I go out and Purchase The Antivirus 6.0 by McAfee. It has done its job very well, unlike Norton's. the program found two viri while Nortons found none.

Not what it Seems

A bad experience here, as the software appeared to set up all sorts of conflicts and that was merrily followed by MS Windows automatically reconfiguring the pc!! After seeking advice from an 'expert', the advice is don't use this product in conjunction with broadband. It is probably OK with 56k modem.

Useful but sometimes limited

Only works with Internet Explorer, not with customised versions such as Crazy Browser.

Depends on how the web-site was built to how accurate the form filling is.

Norton Password Manager 2004 is definitely useful, but don't expect perfection.

Avoid

Absolutely useless. After installing the product it now takes approximately 40 minutes to actually get on line. After uninstalling, reboot, reinstalling, uninstalling, reboot, reinstalling etc etc etc, I finally got an e-mail from Panda.
Three pages long and full of technical jargon that would baffle a NASA scientist.
Avoid.

very pleased with this product

Having read some rather negative reviews of this product I was at first a little hesitant about buying it. However I decided to trust Mcafee's reputation and wasn't disappointed.
Comments regarding the Mcafee logo 'freezing' are dealt with in the documentation as is the 'Instant Updater' so as with all software it's important to read the help files for last minute fixes and changes.
After installing it's important to get onto the Mcafee site and get an update on the 'Instant Updater'. This fixes any problems with getting updates. Having done this updates are automatically downloaded - easy peazy!
The interface is very simple to negotiate and Mcafee's web site is packed with useful info and very easy to get around...
Buy it!!

A bit of a rip off

I payed about £50 for this software and seriously don't think it's even worth half that. This software may help protect your PC against spyware, trojans etc but, I have found that it made my PC run 2-3 times slower than before.
8.5 minutes it took for my desktop to load up completely and I only bought My computer from PC World 9 months ago so it's not like my pc is that old. It was bad enough before when I had to wait 5 minutes for Norton Software to load up just so that I could use the internet to send an e-mail. overall this product has failed to impress me. I thought the Windows Washer software would help speed up my computer by deleting all unnecessary files and freeing up hard drive space but has infact done the complete Opposite.
My advice to anyone considering purchasing this product - Shop around and research similar products first.
