Review for Norton Antivirus 2006 & Personal Firewall 2006 Bundle:
Every single fault that has occured with my new computer has been due to Norton Antivirus, from the minor - Norton Firewall prevents a multitude of programs, such as iTunes and Mozilla Firefox, from working - to the major - a 80% uninstallation of all it's files on a normal start-up (and if that was not a fault of the program, which I believe it was, then it must have been due to a virus. Therefore it didn't do it's ANTI-VIRUS task then, did it?)
To compound matters further, Norton's help service (run by Symantec) is appauling. By far the most unhelpful 'help' service ever. If you have a problem which prevents you from accessing the internet, and therefore their website, as I once had, (later resolved by unistalling Norton as - surprise, surprise - it's Live Update system had crashed during an update and corrupted some files) then you can't get help from them. Seriously, try their customer service helpline (if you can actually find it - they seem to go out of their way to hide it). Out of three numbers I found, two were no longer in use and the third stated that it as was not a technical helpline, all technical queries resolved would be done so at a cost to the consumer. Very customer orientated I must say, sorry, I mean profit orientated.
I cannot stress enough how poor a service, and unreliable a product Norton/Symantec provide. I feel appauled at having to award it one star as I feel it doesn't deserve any. I would strongly advise anyone against buying any Norton software - especially this one, but instead opt for another anti virus program. There are many more out there that are far more superior and reliable than this one. My personal recommendation would be McAfee as I've yet to encounter any problems with it at all, and neither has anybody else that I know of who uses it.

Causes more problems than it solves.
I really don't know where to start in warning you off of any Norton product, let alone this one. I've had problems with previous Norton Antivirus products, but was swayed into purchasing this as it was available as a special offer when I purchased my new computer. I wish I hadn't.Every single fault that has occured with my new computer has been due to Norton Antivirus, from the minor - Norton Firewall prevents a multitude of programs, such as iTunes and Mozilla Firefox, from working - to the major - a 80% uninstallation of all it's files on a normal start-up (and if that was not a fault of the program, which I believe it was, then it must have been due to a virus. Review for McAfee VirusScan 6.0:
Comments regarding the Mcafee logo 'freezing' are dealt with in the documentation as is the 'Instant Updater' so as with all software it's important to read the help files for last minute fixes and changes.
After installing it's important to get onto the Mcafee site and get an update on the 'Instant Updater'. This fixes any problems with getting updates. Having done this updates are automatically downloaded - easy peazy!
The interface is very simple to negotiate and Mcafee's web site is packed with useful info and very easy to get around...
Buy it!!

Review for McAfee VirusScan 6.0:
very pleased with this product
Having read some rather negative reviews of this product I was at first a little hesitant about buying it. However I decided to trust Mcafee's reputation and wasn't disappointed.Comments regarding the Mcafee logo 'freezing' are dealt with in the documentation as is the 'Instant Updater' so as with all software it's important to read the help files for last minute fixes and changes.

Review for Norton Antivirus 2007 (Upgrade Edition, 3 User Licence) (PC):
Not 3 user but up to 3 user
This product is mis described by Amazon! I have previously bought multi user licence packs of Norton Antivirus and have been able to install it on the multiple computers I have at different times and have a full years updates for each. This pack is for UP TO 3 users and the 1 year of free virus signature updates will stop on ALL 3 computers 12 months after you installed it on the first computer. Thus I have had to waste up to 10 months free updates for my previous version on several of my computers as only 1 had actually expired. I checked this with Symantec and there is no way to get credit for these unused updates. So unless you have 3 computers which have all run out of free updates this might not be good value.120
Review for Norton AntiVirus 2003 & Norton Personal Firewall 2003:
But I'm starting to run out of different brands, and still no success!
Up to now, I've been giving Norton the benefit of the doubt, reckoning that there was probably something about my particular machine that was causing a problem. But I've now tried the software on 3 different machines running various types of windows, and it's far from reliable on any of them.
Personally, I'm very grateful to the other reviewers who have suggested alternative products, because I urgently need a *reliable* backup solution - and I'm afraid this isn't it.

Review for Norton AntiVirus 2003 & Norton Personal Firewall 2003:
Quite shockingly poor
Generally I love Norton products and rate them very highly, but I'm afraid this is a major exception. On my PC, I've found that any backup that requires more than 3-5 CDs generally fails. Also, when I've tried to burn to a DVD instead of a CD, I always get the message that the media isn't supported, and a suggestion that I try other brands. But I'm starting to run out of different brands, and still no success!

Serious overhaul required!
Norton Password Manager was included as part of my copy of SystemWorks 2004 Professional. Had I bought it as stand-alone software, I'd definitely have felt as though I'd wasted my money! Here are a few of the (lack-of) features...- Form-filling is limited to 1 variant. For example, John Smith cannot log-in to Hotmail as both 'johnsmith' and 'jsmith' without changing the saved information or switching Profile/user.
- Forms and drop-down menus aren't recognised as the same thing, despite having the same descriptor, e.g. a drop-down menu for a credit card expiry date won't be filled.
- 'Web browser' is synonymous with Microsoft Internet Explorer. There are no other options, so if you prefer a half-decent browser like a Netscape Navigator or a fast one like Mozilla or Opera, you're fresh out of luck (extremely annoying if you've tried a non-Explorer browser and then realised how rubbish Explorer is).
- As with most Symantec products, free online support is none-existent (I only found out about the browser limitation through another Amazon review, the manual completely glosses-over this problem).
There are similar reviews for this product on amazon.com. Right, I'm off to find a working alternative...
