Top notch

Top notch.....easy to install (SOFTWARE FIRST!!!). Ive used several other cameras and although this was a few quid dearer than the budget ones ive had before, the quality improvement is well worth it. Ebuyer still fantastic price and arrived a day earlier than expected! Also, you can trust Microsofts support to be equally as good as the webcam with regular updates. Sits nice an looks good on top of TFT monitor too.

Could be better

Good sharp images but as the other person said, the colour is almost impossible to get right. Strangely, the best colour I can get is if I turn off all the lights and then when it gains up, the colours reach their correct intensity. No amount of playing with the saturation and hue, etc can get the same effect with good lighting.

Plus Ive got a dead pixel.

Not sure its worth the postage to send it back but Im sure there are better around.

Disappointing quality and performance

I bought this after reading some reviews ( and having used a couple of high-end Logitech webcams) and had high hopes... unfortunately I have been very disappointed.

It's touted as having upto 90fps, which is only possible at low resolution, it only allowed me to select 90fps in MSN and skype. I was able to select 60fps through the Philips vlounge software at 640x480, although it only felt and seemed like 30fps when I moved around in front of the webcam.

Sadly the image quality is poor compared to most Logitech webcams and appears heavily interpolated in an attempt to get a smoother picture.
Colour balance and saturation also appeared poor (Even with my"Daylight" bulbs indoors)in anything but daylight. I also tested the webcam over MSN with a friend and it kept going dark and then returning to a brigther picture. He reported the framerate was particularly slow (even though we both have 4mb broadband).

The only reasonable aspect I encountered was the face tracking which seemed smoother (although slower) than the Logitech webcams I have used.

All in all I have been disappointed with what on paper seemed like a winner and I returned it and will probably go for one of the newer Logitechs like the Logitech Sphere AF (since my older Sphere MP worked quite well).

I bought one of these cameras for my son's 12th birthday, and am sorry to say that it did not come up to expectations .My son has owned and enjoyed an original digital blue since he was 9, it is an excellent movie camera for children, well made, easy to use with fun software which makes editing and downloading your movie a piece of cake with sound effects.However the new version although it sounds just great with a viewing screen and longer filming times with an SD card, just doesn't seem to be made to the same high standards as the previous one, the quality of the microphone and light sensitivity are not as good, the instructions are inadequate even if you go to the website and the software is identicle to the original as far as we could tell with nothing extra, also the"whole thing feels cheap and nasty" to quote my son, the silver bit at the frount even fell off,I could add more in the same vein.It is a real shame that digital blue have not managed to update their original excellent little camera to a higher standard.

Software conflict

This is a good webcam but the software conflicts with Kodak Easyshare 6.4 software for kodak eashyshare cameras etc so keep this in mind if you buy this product. Kodak have not fixed this and Logitech have not released new software to overcome this problem. If you do not own any Kodak products with easyshare software then this is a very good webcam and well worth the money although I paid a lot more for this when it was released so this is a bargain and well worth the money and the picture quality is excellent.

all my gear/mouse keybord camera are logitech these work with windows 98 so are great on xp i have on order 2 more from this site to improve my contact,s picture,s. its good gear thank,s logitech...

Cheap and cheerful, this little cam will allow you to video chat online to your friends and family! The camera connects via USB and 3.5" Audio Jack for the mic - so make sure you have a free microphone port (nearly all computers do).

Sure, the quality's not going to blow anyone away, but at £10, you can afford to buy a few to keep in touch with relatives and friends :)
