Review for Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack (Xbox 360):
Good Points:
1. Cheap for the amount of times it will need charging for the casual gamer.
2. It's a Microsoft product so it will work perfectly with the controler.
Bad Points:
1. Dosent last very long with the headset pluged in.
2. Anoying to need to use the plug and charge thing in the midle of a game.

Review for Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack (Xbox 360):
Iv got better
I have 4 rechargeable batteries that, when im using 2 last well longer than 25 hours. I can even prove it! I was playing my brother a match of Gears of war that went on for an unbeleavable amount of time (Around a whole day!) and his batteries died in the middle of the match. I asked what batteries he was using and he said that it was one of these packs. He also said that he recharged it the day before and was anoyed with needing to use the play and charge thing. He was in manchester at the time and we were using thoes headsets that drain battery power. I was using these batterise for a few weeks, I have even tested how long they lasted. They have a brillient lasting time of 36 hours!!! I was shoked but thought lol lol lol, what a propper find they were. These batteries cost me £49.99 a pack so I guess theye were priced in their propper place. If you dont want to spend that mutch on a pair of batteries then get this, but if you want lasting power for intense gaming with a headset, don't get this.Good Points:
1. Cheap for the amount of times it will need charging for the casual gamer.
2. It's a Microsoft product so it will work perfectly with the controler.
Bad Points:
1. Dosent last very long with the headset pluged in.

Review for Scene It? Box Office Smash - Software Only (Xbox 360):
This sequel, available both with and without the buzzers (as if you have the first one like me, you won't need a new set), addresses quite a few of these flaws. Overall, the presentation is slicker and less annoying - it drops the smarmy"backlot" theme of the first in favour of a more standard interface, and throws in lots of knowing, self-depracating humour. In addition load times have been also reduced, and the new films are in many cases more recent and closer to the"A" list. It is also the first game I have encountered (other than those on Xbox Live) to make full use of the new Avatar system for your gamertag.
The first Scene It was regarded by many as a source of quick gamer points, as achievements can come thick and fast - but to be honest you have to do very well and know your movies to get them, as most only onlock through winning points, maxing out categories or getting unbroken chains.
However,"scorewhores" often exploited the fact that you could pause the game and go Google the answers. This new game disables the pause feature during questions, making the achievements ones you have to earn and not just harvest. I think you'll see a lot less people with high points on this one...
With some fun new quiz types and an online play mode, Scene It: Box Office Smash is probably as close as the 360 gets to the inclusiveness of the Wii. If you're a movie fan and like party games, then this is a great buy.

Review for Scene It? Box Office Smash - Software Only (Xbox 360):
Another buzz for movie fans
As a movie buff I really enjoyed the first Scene It: Lights, Camera Action. It was immediate and accessible, although the interface, presentation and voice acting were a little on the kitschy side and drifted into irritation quite often. In addition, many of the films featured seemed to smack of"couldn't get the rights to really good or more recent ones"...This sequel, available both with and without the buzzers (as if you have the first one like me, you won't need a new set), addresses quite a few of these flaws. Review for Burnout Paradise (Xbox 360):
The new freeroaming burnout is a completely differnt game and i ahve to say i don't like it anywhere near a much. In the old games the 'wrong turns' were blocked off, but they're not in this one leading to some errors at 100mph and more than a little frustration. The level up seems similar to older versions but you seem to ride the same routes at each level just in faster cars and there doesn't seem to be as much variation as in burnout revenge.
Burnot has been great up until now - please bring the old version back Criterion
UPdate - i've just recieved a second hand copy of burnout revenge and i intend to work my way through this better game again. If you have neither i would suggest buying revenge over paradise

Review for Brian Lara Cricket 2007 (Xbox 360):
You sometimes get real players names and sometimes you dont?
The online connection will drop out randomly and the whole thing was rushed out in time for the World Cup.
If you can get it for a fiver AND you are an absolute cricket nut then it might be worth five quid, otherwise its buggy, and dull and i wished i hadnt wasted by cash on it ...

Review for Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360):
I thought it was very entertaining being able to climb litterally anything, its so fun i free run and throw guards off buildings for hours. And when fighting: Counter Kills are so cool! You press X while blocking when they attack and you do this awesome set of kills.
There is only 2 bad things. There is too much talk at the beggining and it gets boring if you play it all the time for a month. (and there's no multiplayer)
Gameplay - 5/5
Cool Features - 5/5
Graphics - 4/5
Fighting - 4.5/5
If you have an xbox (or PS3)this is a must buy and are missing one of the most fun games ever. And dont let the negative points put you off.

THE DEMO IS AMAZING!
I played NBA 2k9 demo on Xbox 360 and lets say it was fantastic. Even though you dont get to play a whole game it still leaves you wanting to play more. The graphics and physics are so realistic, at times you think your watching real life people. The soundtrack is cool, although I put my ipod on and played it instead. This is the first time I've ever played a basketball sim and I'm really looking forward to buying it. Can't wait to get my own player on the court doing some slam dunks! So yeah download the demo, its worth it.70
Review for The Last Remnant (Xbox 360):
Graphically, the game is incredible. It uses the unreal 3 engine and the graphics reflect that. Characters ooze with detail and the same can be said for the towns, villages, cities and enemies. You will not be dissapointed, however this has appeared to be at the cost of interactivity. You cannot communicate with ALL people on the field, but only with certain characters. You cannot enter all buildings, only certain ones and (HORROR) you cannot explore the entire city, village or town, only certain parts!
Gameplay WILL shock and stun RPG players. No longer is their leveling up (yes I'm serious) but characters increase in strength, intelligence, HP etc thus becoming stronger as the game progresses without formal EXP points per battle. Yet this is only the icing on the cake of changes. Battles consist of up to 5 unions with up to 5 members in each. You control the basic command, i.e. attack, mystic arts, restore HP etc, but then the actual decisions of attacks etc are down to the computer. This would be bad if it wasn't for the intriguing enemy/ally positioning system. Depending on the units you attack and the way you attack you'll find yourself flanking, deadlocking, raidlocking etc-this is basically the way you approach an enemy and this results in different benefits i.e. increased damage etc. You also have a moral bar at the top which will improve damage, defence, critical hit etc but can also have an adverse affect on these. Battles are not randomly generated but are instigated with the right trigger-the more enemies you fight, the greater the rewards.
This is basically how the game progresses. Yes, this will disappoint some players, but if you're flexible and willing, the game turns out to be quite charming. Music and voice acting add to the game and the ability to buy units for your unions is welcome. However, for the ardent turn based RPG fan, this maybe too much change in the genre then they can handle, however, some may welcome this as a breat of fresh air. A good story with innovative features, but the use of QTE is just irritating. QTE is NOT an afterthought!

Review for The Last Remnant (Xbox 360):
A very unique RPG
This was not the game I was expecting in many ways. The story is the same typical stuff you hear about all the time: Boy (Rush) has his sister (Irina) kidnapped, boys goes off to find her, realises some remnant thing has her and tries to track her down. The story does become far more complex, but this is the plot for about the first 3 hours. It's just the usual really.Graphically, the game is incredible. It uses the unreal 3 engine and the graphics reflect that. Characters ooze with detail and the same can be said for the towns, villages, cities and enemies. Review for Gears of War (Xbox 360):
There are flaws - until you get used to it, it's hard to tell your allies apart from your enemies, the combat is repetitive - take cover, keep popping out to fire, keep an eye out for enemies flanking you while you do the same etc. - and the minimal amount of storyline and backstory you get seems such a wasted opportunity when it starts with such a good sci-fi setting, and the easiest diffifculty setting, while not excessively hard if you're an exeperienced gamer, is a bit too hard in places - considering the easy setting is supposed to be for casual/inexperienced gamers, they should have made it more forgiving for people who want the easy setting.
But - it has to be one of the most enjoyable FPS/TPS games ever - the combat is so balanced and satisfying that you can easily forgive the flaws and just enjoy every minute of it, it really does feel close to how you imagine actually being in battle would feel (apart from both you and enemies being able to take numerous hits before dying). One of the few games where after completing it, I started playing through from the beginning again the same day, I was enjoying it so much.

Some flaws, but still outstanding
Look past the childish design of the main characters (ridiculously muscular deep-voiced male stereotypes that look like they were designed by a 13 year old boy who reads too many army comics and ought to get out more and meet some girls) and there's an outstanding game in here.

Review for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (Xbox 360):
From the outset this is clearly a Rare game. The locales beam with imagination and graphical splendour and the characters are rich in details and humour. Better still is the fact that the game doesn't seem to suffer from slow down as you negotiate the massive open landscapes.
The gameplay itself revolves around collecting jiggies and other stuff from various worlds in order to unlock new ones - very much like Mario 64. Again like Mario 64 each level has a number of 'acts' so you play the same environemnt several times to complete all of the tasks. This is fine but also a problem. Each level finds you going towards markers on a GTA-style mini map to complete a task which can get quite robotic. The challenges themselves can either be frustrating, too easy or repetitive. I've currently completed about 35 such tasks which are mostly races or collect this from A take it to B ASAP. There are well over 100 tasks so let's hope they improve. You can do a lot of exploring outside of the main game which breaks things up nicely and helps you find new parts to build better vehicles with.
Vehicle building is actually quite cool - although it can get tedious with the joypad to construct anything large. A facility to design on the web and upload to the 360 would be amazing as a mouse makes more sense. Vehicle control can be anooying and you tend to skew wildly when hitting the slightest bump. But, to be fair, when you build your first fast vehicle you can't help but smile. Tasks can require you to build your own vehicle to suit the job in hand which again provides a level of reward.
In summary, great idea and well worth buying and playing but a bit clunky and repetitive at times. It's a shame xmas isn't in February as an another month or two of polish and this could have been stunning.

Great Idea But Not A Classic
I loved the original Banjo Kazooie games and, like many, was surprised at the vehicle-centric gameplay when it was first announced. However, I always look forward something different and this is certainly that. There has been a lot of moaning about it but if you want a straight platformer get the original BK on XBLA or buy a Wii and Super Mario Galaxy - they are unmatched. From the outset this is clearly a Rare game. The locales beam with imagination and graphical splendour and the characters are rich in details and humour. Skate or TH
If your stuck on choosing between Skate or TH proving grounds like I was at Christmas last year you should buy Skate as overall it is the better game, as a skater myself I can say that skate is easily 10 times as realistic as TH and you can have more fun the just button mashing to see how many tricks you can do. Also skate is about the closest gaming will ever get to the feel of actually skating where as TH is just press some buttons do some ridiculous combo, skate involves actual skill to do lots of the tricks and you stack if you don't land them well but in TH you will almost always just keep going so I think that if your stuck on which to buy, then skate is the game for you!74
Review for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Xbox 360):
Most games to-movie tie ins tend to be poor rush job's released purely to coincide with the movie (in the knowledge that they'll sell bucketloads regardless of quality). There are a few exceptions (Riddick, Spiderman 2) but most, like the recent POTC 3, Superman returns etc are just shameless.
Unfortunately this is no different an doesnt even boast the voice talent of the film. The presentation is pretty shoddy with just an explaining loading scene leading into the first mission (which incidentally bares no connection to the film). In short this is a poor mans Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, with last-gen graphics, and with some of the most inane fight, hit the swith, fight, hit the switch gamelay available. Its oh so basic, requirng little thought or skill. Theres no variation and it just isnt fun or rewarding. The A.I is also Spectrum level with ure allies wandering about aimlessly and being more of a hinderance than a help, half the time you end up having to sheep herd them to places or try to avoid them as they get in your way. There is some half hearted leveling up to be had (guess that's what makes it also an RPG eg???) and a double team attack to unlock (thought it was fantastic Four, not 2 so why only a 2 double team instead of four???) along with some graphic art to unlock (you wont want to bother) but it's so very weak. I so wanted to like this game however even after 10 minutes i was fed up and finding it repetitive!!!

Im not intentionally being unfair to this game, however Marvel Ultimate Alliance had its critics but is infinately superior to this. This game is just so basic that had it been on the PSone it'd have been acceptable , and even then would look miserable compared to FF7. If your looking for a game with the FF and Silver Surfer etc look to Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Its bigger, better looking, longer, has lots of unlockables and superior in every way.
Avoid............The film isnt too bad tho and worth a look!!!

Review for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Xbox 360):
Another poor Movie-tie in!!!
Review for Turtle Beach Ear Force X1 Headset (Xbox 360):
First impressions were good. The actual headset is well made and the arm that holds the microphone is sturdy and can be posed in any position, or swivelled away from the face if you don't want to talk.
But I have the following problems with the X1.
1. They get uncomfortably hot after a while. The ear cups don't allow your ears to breath. I have other non-gaming headphones for music and they can be worn for hours in full comfort. I find my ears need a break before my eyes with the X1s.
2. The sound quality is poor, especially if you are using a wired controller, or are charging your wireless controller while playing. I found a constant hissing noise to be present if my controller was physically attached to my 360. Even when playing wirelessly the sound, while pleasantly bass-heavy for explosions and the like, loses many higher frequencies compared to dedicated music headphones.
3. Now this is the WORST problem. It is very, very easy to damage the X1s by accident. Because the cable that comes with it is so long, other people or yourself can easily accidentally trip or catch it. A common problem is to unknowingly sit on the cable and then try stand up. If this happens, there is no safety mechanism to detach the cord - it will either pull the headphones off your head, out of the headphone socket on your TV or hi-fi or permanantly damage the headset. My Sony music headphones with a similar length cord detach below the ear should you accidentally snag the cord, saving damage to the headset.
I don't feel I can recommend the X1s. Buy if you have no other choice, but beware.

Review for Assassin's Creed - Classics Edition (Xbox 360):
The original game released in November 2007, now it's in the Classics Range which means you're basically getting it half-price. I picked it up last week and if you haven't yet read any of the 208 or so reviews for the original game you can wade though this one!
Assassin's Creed is what you'd get if you set Grand Theft Auto in the Holy Land back in 1191 A.D. The fist fights are there, your sword replaces the Uzi, your throwing knives replace the rocket launcher, your thoroughbred steeds replace the vehicles and you play as the feared assassin Altair rather than a nobody wannabe criminal, but in a nutshell it's GTA with the added bonus of being available in the Classics Range, so you'll be able to pick it up for £19.99 RRP or less.
For historians, it's like going on a virtual field trip with the Third Crusade. Ubisoft the developers have paid great attention to detail and have faithfully recreated their version of the geography and city layouts from available historical documentation relating to this period.
You start out in Masyaf, the fortress town where the elite assassin organisation is based. Stripped of your rank and weapons following a recent botched mission, you have to relearn the art of assassination by undertaking a string of tasks set by your Master, Al Mualim.
The first few tasks are simple enough, teaching you the arts of eavesdropping (sit on a bench, lock on to your target with LT and press Y to listen), pickpocketting (lock on, follow and press B at the right moment to nick documents) and interrogation (lock on, beat up with your fists until they submit and spill the beans).
It's here that you'll get a small sense of the jaw-dropping scale of each level in the game, but if you think Masyaf is teeming with people, all of whom react differently to you depending on how you act, try to remember that Masyaf is a small village in comparison to the 3 main cities you'll be visiting (Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem), not to mention the Kingdom that connects them all.
Next you'll learn basic combat, but because you're initially starting anew you only have one basic combo at your disposal until you've progressed through the ranks a bit more.
After this, the world is your oyster as you progress through your missions taking out the 9 main targets on your list. Initially you're limited to the first 3 sections of each city, but later on after you've unlocked all the knowledge required to be a master assassin you'll have the entire game at your free-roaming disposal, and the only time you'll get a loading screen thereafter is when switching from one city to the Kingdom or jumping directly to a city from the menu.
Each of your assassinations follows the same pattern:
- Reveal parts of the map and available tasks by climbing to high points.
- Gain information on your targets by performing a minimum number of side quests like eavesdropping, saving citizens, pickpocketting, interrorgations or tasks set for you by informers.
- Move in for the kill once you have permission to do so from the local guild.
Some gamers might find this repetitive, but for me I was able to get totally immersed in the whole climbing/stalking preparation aspect, so much so that I always performed all the additional subquests before the main one even though they were mostly optional. The advantage to completing all the quests is pretty obvious - you'll have more citizens to block guards when you're escaping, you'll get more background information on your target and hence the storyline, and trying to collect 20 flags within 3 minutes or kill 5 Templars within 4 minutes without alerting guards will certainly put your free-running and stealth assassination skills to the test.
I got a real kick out of climbing to highpoints as I get vertigo in real life, and being able to stand at the top of a 200ft spire and look down on the city below really pushes your console graphically, it's something to behold. On top of this, most (not all!) highpoints allow you to take a 'leap of faith', you're not always sure if there's a handy haystack to break your fall below but thankfully it's pretty obvious most of the time.
Oddly, most of the combat in Assassin's Creed is optional. City guards dislike assassins at the best of times, and if you want you can do various things to provoke them, or you can behave and blend in to avoid them completely. When provoked, guards will chase you until you either kill them or find a hiding space by way of a haystack, blending with friendly scholars or a rooftop trellis, but to be able to use these hiding places you first have to break the guards' line of sight which can be achieved by getting friendly vigilantes to block their path, running around street corners or scaling buildings.
Combat is so much fun, and so very brutal, that a lot of the time you'll be picking fights on purpose just so you can run people through the neck with your longsword after a particularly neat counter-move or combo. Other times you'll be deliberately scampering up onto rooftops to practice your knife-throwing skills on the rooftop guards. And sometimes, just for the sheer fun of it, you'll assassinate random members of the local population just because you can.
The controls are simple enough that with good timing you'll get surrounded by 8-10 guards, grab one, throw him away, counter-attack and kill another in a very gory fashion and gradually whittle down the rest with a combination of fierce combos, side-stepping, breaking down their defences, some nifty-knifework, a spot of leg-breaking and the simple fact that spinning around behind an attacker, using a longsword up-swing to break their swordarm in half and then skewering them through the neck and practically severing their head in a satisfying burst of blood reduces the number of opponents you have by one. Every time.
Once the storyline is completed ('tis a rip-roaring yarn with lots of neat twists and a rather abrupt ending with 'SEQUEL' scrawled all over it in blood) you'll probably have some achievements left over to get. Thankfully, Ubisoft have designed the game so that you can go back and replay different sections, and longevity is provided in the optional tasks of collecting all the assorted flags and banners (which can be very craftily hidden) or assassinating all of the 60 Templars (slightly tougher than city guards) scattered around the Kingdom and the 3 cities.
It's here that the game really shines. If you can imagine popping in GTA IV and immediately having access to all weapons, all skills, all locations, that's basically what you get if you load up Assassin's Creed from a previously completed game, which only takes around 15 hours to do if you skip the optional tasks.
You can stroll around cities, gently pushing pedestrians out of your way (the crowd AI sets a new challenge to any developer thinking of trying to emulate it) soaking up the atmosphere from the merchant criers (you can jump through their stalls to escape guards), the beggars (you can grab them and throw them some distance to get them out of your face), the thugs (pickpocket them for extra throwing knives when you run out), the guards (who speak English, French and German all equally gruffly), or simply start a massive fight in order to get the Eagle's Flight (last 10 minutes in open conflict) and Eagle's Challenge (defeat 25 guards in a single fight) achievements.
You can jump on a horse (handily they're dotted about the Kingdom) and just go trotting or galloping off around the map looking for flags and Templars, running people down or, if you're unlucky, getting dismounted by some of the wily guards which results in a fight or flight decision. On a side note as an equestrian I really like the way horses handle, replete with Altair clicking his tongue to get them moving or calling out to get them galloping, someone really knew their horses when they coded this section.
You can stand there looking at water and wondering why you can't swim (hitting water is instant death), but the game is lenient in that there's no real death penalty, you just get set back to your most recent auto-save which isn't ever very far away. Thankfully there are only two main places in the game where water plays a major part, and one of them is optional.
Because this is spoiler free, I've skipped a good 30% of the game's content and about 80% of the storyline because there is a lot more to Assassin's Creed than most reviews let on. Having said that I think I've covered about 99% of the gameplay.
When it comes to scoring, I hate giving 10/10s mainly because no game is perfect, but Assassin's Creed comes very very close. Somewhere around the 94% mark for me, hence the 5 stars. Given that it's available in the Classics Range for only £19.99 or less you cannot really go wrong. It's worth that just to get an inkling of what the 360 can do in terms of showing off games and Assassin's Creed certainly doesn't disappoint even though it was released almost a year ago.
Definitely a 'must buy'.

Review for Xbox 360 Wired Controller (Xbox 360):
The cord is also very long, so unless you want to play your game from the other side of your house, it doesn't impede gameplay. In fact, for people more used to wired controllers, it's better.
If you're having problems with your wireless controller- get this. It's the perfect substitute.

As a great fan of the WWII series call of duty, I was very dissapointed to see that this one is based in modern times. I really enjoyed Call of Duty 2 and 3 but this just ruined to for me. Review for Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy (Xbox 360):
I'm pleased to say however that the game developers of Bourne Conspiracy have done a tremendous job, and its beyond me how some people have rated this game as a two star! I think some reviewers just like to put games down to big themselves up....
Anyway back to the game, its so well made and put together. The graphics are superb, the voice acting is tremendous and I love how they have followed the story of the first movie but with a few extra's thrown in, this way you feel you are playing something new and not just a carbon copy of the movie.
The controls are great, very easy to use, why do people want to over complicate things? If it aint broke then don't fix it, and this game certainly aint broke. The hand to hand combat sequences are truly jaw dropping, with many different combos you can use to take your opponent down and the boss battles are gripping, as is the rest of the game. Maybe this is why people have completed it so quickly because you simply can't stop playing it....
I absolutely love this game and would go as far to say its the best game released on the 360 this year.

This is not a drill soldier.
Firstly I'm a huge fan of the movies and when I saw they were making a game I thought, oh no! As most people know game developers seem to have an impressive knack of turning fantastic movies into terrible games, take just about every single Star Wars game ever made and I rest my case.I'm pleased to say however that the game developers of Bourne Conspiracy have done a tremendous job, and its beyond me how some people have rated this game as a two star! I think some reviewers just like to put games down to big themselves up....

GEARS OF WAR IS A MUST BUY FPS GAME!!!
Wow when i first bought this game i had little expectations from this against Halo 3 and other FPS games currently out there but i surely didn't regret buying this!!!Graphics in this game are amazing and all the blood and gore makes this game a step ahead of all other FPS'S out currently.
There are a variety of weapons to use (CHAINSAW BAYONET!!!!!) It's so much fun chainsawing an enemy to see them get chopped into pieces, makes you feel powerful ^^
The campaign is.... short but sweet and with some challenging achievements to get, this game with surely leave you feeling satisfied afterwards.
Overall an excellent FPS and is a MUST BUY!!!
