Review for True Crime: New York City (Xbox):
For a start, if your a fan of the genre, then dont go expecting a polish on par with perhaps the GTA series. Although the game looks great on the whole, it is prone to sudden and aggravating flaws. for example, sometimes while driving, the HUD and all other on screen items will vanish, leaving you blind, as well as the road often has a freak out with textures in this time. Also, there is common loss of sound effects which requires leaving and re-entering the vehicle. I wasnt too sure about the NPC actions either. I hate to keep reffering to GTA, but as fans will know, the NPC’s would walk, sit, chat and do various other actions, in TCNY, the NPCs do walk and run, but ther actions seem limited to swearing and repeating other annoying phrases over and over, Conversations between 2 NPCs are rare and are often the same. All they really do is bump into each other (which results in swearing 24/7 when in some crowded areas) and get in the way of bullets, basically.
If you think im trying to stop you buying then please dont, it is a great game and fans will undoubtably love it. It would be a fantastic game if they worked on thier transitions (e.g sunny to rainy) which is basically a split second lighting and graphical change, and made the whole city a bit more interactive.
It sounds like im picking holes, but im not, great game, 4/5.

Good game...but buggy
After the shocking dissapointment that was TC streets of LA i was pleased to learn that luxoflux had taken a more serious approach to TCNY. All credit to them, they did a great job. A fully breathing city which responds and changes to your actions, good storyline and gameplay, however some of the random bugs are just annoying. For a start, if your a fan of the genre, then dont go expecting a polish on par with perhaps the GTA series. Review for The Godfather (Xbox):
The opening scene has you playing as a member of the Corleone family, this is the basic training for the game such as movement and unarmed combat, after completeing this you see a short cutscene and your character is killed. The next scene shows the wedding of Don Corleones daughter. A woman who we learn to be the wife of the dead man enters and begs Don Corleone to save her son who has fallen in with a bad crowd. The Don sends Luca Brasi in time for you to get revenge on the gang members who were beating you up.
The game soon teaches you the basics and allows to roam free quite quickly. You can extort shopkeepers, buy out racketeers, rob banks, corrupt police officers and generally do the kind of things you would expect in a Godfather game. You must then climb the ranks by completeing various missions, from being an idle associate so a made man, the underboss/consigliere and finally maybe the Don of the Corleone family and if you stick at the game long enough... Don of New York!
Some peolpe may criticise it for not being realistic sometimes, such as being to kill 10-15 people without the police bothering you as long as you line the correct pockets, but it makes it fun. You cannot help but feel proud when you place a perfect headshot on a rival family underboss from 2 metres away without him realising you were there.
The rival families are the same as in the film, the Tattaglias, Cuneos, Straccis abd the Barzinis. They play a huge role in the game as you may have to fight your way through 6 or 7 guards to reach the shopkeeper but you still feel proud when you do. The street fights with other families are brilliant and really make you grin evilly when you see 4 or 5 Cuneos who are chasing you get mown down as you fly past the guards on the Corleone compund.
The compounds are crucial to the game as you must control them all to control New York. Compunds are some of the most heavily guarded installations in the game and can be brutes to try and conquer; however when you do so, you cannot help but realise how easy taking out business guards actually is and really help you in the game.
All in all The Godfather is a brilliant game, by all standards and definitely is a requirement to all video gamers collections; if you are a fan of the films or not, you cannot help but like the game. Apart from a few minor problems such as only a few types of vehicle, The Godfather is pure excellence.

A very good game.
The Godfather is a hugely playable game, I have played it through 6 or 7 times and still find new things to do. The game sticks very closely to the plot of the film and must be given credit for that. The opening scene has you playing as a member of the Corleone family, this is the basic training for the game such as movement and unarmed combat, after completeing this you see a short cutscene and your character is killed. Review for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Xbox):
The gameplay and graphics are good but the view isn't that good, especially in co-op. there is one screen so when the two players are far apart you can barely see anything. the graphics lose a bit of their valu because of this, there are a few glinthes where you can barely see anything.
you can play as nine important caracters from the film including three secret ones. the missions folow the end of the two towers and the story line of the third film the return of the king. there are a few boses like the witch king and sheba. but the game is too short
What is annoying is the absence of four players and xbox live. i know playing with four players on one screen on this game looks kind of booring but they could have put something with xbox live . LAZY. something where the missions are very hard and you play about 5 together against the computer and there are lots of enemies .
in conclusion this is a good game but too short and the graphics leave to desire. RENT THIS GAME DON'T BUY IT

Review for Project Zero 2: Crimson Butterfly (Xbox):
You play the part of a twin sister and the other one follows you along in a ghost town like village, you don't have any weapons, all you have is a camera, only this is no ordinary camera as you are able to see and defeat ghosts with it, if you feel the presence of a ghost near you (you always know when this happens as your joypad will vibrate), you can only see them with your camera, but you must not get too close to the ghosts or they will kill you, to defeat them you have to take pictures of them from a certain distance. This is basically what you do all the way through the game and so some people may find it a little repetitive. As you get further in the game you are able to improve your camera and set it to your liking, so this should keep you interested and there is enough variety of ghosts and you can take as many pictures of them to save or not to save as you wish.
If you have and Xbox and a Playstation 2 then I would fully recommend that you get this Xbox version as it as a bonus first person view (although I personally prefer the third person view in this particular game) and also because the pictures of ghosts that you can save will take less space on the Xbox hardrive, where as a Playstation 2 memory card would be filled up in no time.
When I say that this is a contender for the scariest game I have ever played, I truly mean it but like I have said before with scary games and films, this has to be played at night with the lights off and through a stereo to apprieciate just how scary it is.

In all but name, this is an Asian horror movie video game
Think of Asian horror films for example The Grudge, A Tale Of Two Sisters, The Eye and The Ring etc., this is made with the same kind of atmosphere and visuals as all these type of horror films. As a huge fan of horror movies I have to say thank you to the people behind this game for making it in the style that it was made as it could easily have been done in an over the top kind of way, but as with all of the best kind of horror, it is a case of less is more. If you have never played this game and like me you love the horror genre, then this game is absolutely essential. I am not going to mention the story as in my opinion it is how scary it is that matters the most, so I will just simply explain roughly what the game is about without boring you.You play the part of a twin sister and the other one follows you along in a ghost town like village, you don't have any weapons, all you have is a camera, only this is no ordinary camera as you are able to see and defeat ghosts with it, if you feel the presence of a ghost near you (you always know when this happens as your joypad will vibrate), you can only see them with your camera, but you must not get too close to the ghosts or they will kill you, to defeat them you have to take pictures of them from a certain distance. Review for Sonic Heroes (Xbox):
I am a great Sonic fan and have waited for this title for a long time (after playing Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 who would'nt). Dr. Eggman is up to his old tricks again as he sends a message to the 'Sonic Heroes' (which cnsists of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles) challenging them to save the world once again (will he ever learn!). So ,as usual, Sonic accepts his invitation (whilst in a brilliant CG graphical scene by the way) and speeds off into the distance. This is where the player comes in, you can control all of the three characters to make use of their unique abilities, Sonic=Speed (Line up straight behind Sonic)
Tails=Flight (Tails carries them both in a vertical formation)
Knuckles=Power (Line up side by side with Knuckles in the middle)
This revelutionises the way we play. Using the abilities, you overcome certain obsticals. In addition to this there are 3 other teams to choose from, Team Rose, Dark and Chaotix. Each providing different types of gameplay.
With an amazing soundtrack ,equily amazing graphics and storyline reuniting many a forgotten Sonic character, this is definately the best 3D Sonic game!

Review for Ghost Recon Island Thunder (Xbox):
Now if you're the kind of gamer like me who likes the thrill of a shooter but doesn't want to a) spend ages setting the game up before you play it and b) hates having to replay levels due to stupid deaths, then be warned - this game is not for you. Even on the easiest setting ('cos I'm a wuss) I barely made it through the first mission. It's realistic alright - take a couple of shots and you're dead. Great reality, but what is not realistic is the sluggish movement that gives the impression you've got lead in your boots and a genetic inability to strafe faster than a tortoise. Enemies seem to shoot you before you can even see them and the graphics are not the best so resolution at a distance is just not good enough.
So - for SERIOUS gamers, this may be a good title if you like 'no fun' war simulations and scratching your head about the best team and weapons combo. If you like a faster and more satisfying shooter stick to the likes of Max Payne, The Matrix or Freedom Fighters. I'm trying Conflict Desert Storm next and hope that will be more playable.

Single Players Beware
While this is pushed as a multiplayer or on-line game it does still have a single player set of missions. As a lone player with no live link or any gaming pals (they're all too growm up) I can only play the single player missions. However, the game is so highly rated I thought it must be OK.Now if you're the kind of gamer like me who likes the thrill of a shooter but doesn't want to a) spend ages setting the game up before you play it and b) hates having to replay levels due to stupid deaths, then be warned - this game is not for you. Just Great Fun
I've been through this game twice and I have to say i found it fantastic fun. Ok so the comic book style cut scenes can get a little irritating but at least it gives the impression that some real that has gone into a"plot". The controls are easy and you can carrry as much ammo as you like. Splinter Cell was great but sometimes it's good to just hit bullet time and kill everything in the room safe in the knowledge that every pocket is full of weoponry!93

The sound ang Graphics imerge you in the mind of the creator when this game was being designed, you can almost smell the dank uniform you have on! Ambient sounds give you the impression your there and you do feel fear with every turn of a corner.
Then there they are...the Germans, they havent seen you...you take aim through your scope......bang! ahem!......bang!"it was a head shot and a chest shot!" Now they know where you are, you are firing and no ones getting killed.
Time to look around at your fellow soldiers and look for the one that swapped your live rounds for blanks. You can stand in a good place, have a great shot, and empty 5 clips on the same guy and still he keeps bobing up and firing at you.....AND HITTING YOU! what in gods name were they thinking when they wrote that in..."Lets make the Germans bullet proof"?
A game with so much potential and floored by this one teeny thing. If you have enjoyed the Medal of honour games......don't buy this you will be truely upset that you cannot enjoy the game, sound and graphics to it fullest.

Disappointing sequel
After the revolutionary first game,i was expecting a great deal from Silent Hill 2.It isn't as remotely scary as the original, the puzzles aren't as inspired and it's too short.I can't help comparing it to the original, but this game feels completely empty alongside it.That is not to say it isn't fun,as it it is,and the unravelling story is interesting and unpredictable. The Resident Evil rip-off sub-scenario is fun, too.I hope Silent Hill 4 is a return to form...95

A stratigical and fresh idea
Psi-opps is a great game, which really brings something new to the genre. The mind powers are really fun and it opens up a whole new dimension of the game. What I think was the best part to this game was all the different ways you good complete tasks, like the Hitman series. For instance, go around sneakily and knock everyone out, using silenced pistols to take out cameras, or go in guns galore or use your psycic powers and not lift a finger. It has a compelling storyline with well developed characters and a simple yet solid plot. It has a lot of extra levels, and being able to play as bosses allows you to use stronger powers, but after playing it through on elite, spending some time playing as the bosses and completing all the extra missions, you realise how short the game is, letting me complete it on the hardest difficulty in just over 4 hours. The ending leaves you wanting more, from the sequel which is so heavily suggested. A very good game which will see you to the end...I just can't wait to get stuck into the next, but if you can't wait give 2nd Sight a go.96
Review for Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (Xbox):
Metal Gear is a great great game the control system is perfect. I know people dont like the replacement of snake in the main chapter with raiden but lets face it this is snakes fourth computer game and he must be in his mid thirtys by now it wouldn't be plausible for him to be still working for foxhound and raidens allowed the designers to make a young agile character who can flip to dodge bullets, hang on to rails etc. Snakes a middle aged man it would be stupid if he done that sort of thing. The cut scences are varied most are very good but one of the sub story lines concerning otacon and his sister is just plain stupid. Saying that though Hideo Kojima always refernces hollywood and japanese film narrative snd im sure he recognises the indulgence of the story. This is a very interesting game its is to video games what pulp fiction is to films. To me this is the one of the first games to be as relevant as a book. If a film was ever made of this game it would be disasterous just like when films are made of great books.
I think this is a historically important game. This game real depth I have even tracked down copys of the original MSX metal gear games because of it.

Review for Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance II (Xbox):
But the flaws of this game outweigh the good stuff.
When the game first starts the goblins will try to outflank you 'ah', you think, 'they've tarted up the AI'. But no, this brief glimmer of intelligence is all too soon forgotten for the routines of old: fighters rush to bash head on, archers and spell casters attempt to keep their distance.
As you begin the levels are *much* larger than the original, but once you pass the midway point some of the levels are tiny, and the only (and it must be said, shining) spark of originality is the Plane of Air which is tricky and challenging. Another level features monsters that won't even defend themselves if you take your armour off.
Two player is buckets more fun...but some of the end of level bossess can be taken down in a bare few seconds even without special attacks, which makes for rather a let down when you are expecting a big and nasty showdown.
Complete the game and you get Drizzt (again, but he's cool) and an assassin whose name is meaningless unless you are a hardcore FR fan. Fans who wanted to try the 'old skool' three from the first game may well be disappointed.
The item creation idea is fun, letting you make your own mega-death implements of destruction.
The characters are more diverse and have their own mini-plots (go here, kill group X, get heaps of XP, generally), but frankly without the game being appealing enough the first time through, the desire to play through again is desperately lacking.
So, a lot of fun for 3 or 4 eveings, making it ideal rental fodder.
At the time of writing, holding out of Champions of Norrath on PS2 seems a better bet.

Review for Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance II (Xbox):
Fun, but short and flawed.
Okay, you've played the first game and get pretty much what you had in the first: great graphics and sound, hack and slash fun, as many enemies as you can shake a stick at.But the flaws of this game outweigh the good stuff.

Review for The Simpsons: Hit & Run (Xbox Classics):
My initial thoughts of this game were ok; graphics are good, sound is good, but after I had played several missions, it dawned on me that this game is so repetitive! Every mission is either destroy all of something, race someone or go and collect something - always before time runs out.
The voices are all genuine but the dialoque is pretty weak.
The game in itself is slightly amusing, and its good how you can explore Springfield.
If you like the kind of games like"Crash Bandikoot" then this game is for you, otherwise I would suggest getting a better game like San Andreas

Most Repetitive Game Ever!

I have two different minds about his game. One is that the graphics are absoluetly amazing while the other is it can get a bit same old, same old. The game is too short and the missions even shorter! If anyting rent the game or buy it on the cheap side. Still a good quality game, and a marvel fan should try it out!100
Review for Brothers in Arms: Road To Hill 30 (Xbox):
A squad-sombat WWII game was crying out to be made, and finally this presented itself. The graphics are also awesome for current-gen consoles.
But the main thing I find cool about this game is the way your squad is used. In Rainbow six you make them go somewhere, they will shoot at the enemy and, if you want you can try to flank them, that is assuming all of the enemy are pinned. On this, a.) you have control of a larger squad and b.) if you order them to shoot at an enemy, the enemy will be pinned. All this allows for far more tactical opportunities than in most squad games.

One of the best games I've ever played.
Racers had been done. First Person Shooters had been done to death, and even squad-combat was getting tiresome. This came along and blew me away.A squad-sombat WWII game was crying out to be made, and finally this presented itself. The graphics are also awesome for current-gen consoles.

Better than i expected!
I had read the reviews of this game and though i was planning to get it, the comments put me off spending £40 on it. but my friend got it for christmas and let me have a go. I really enjoyed it! Each character has their own special moves that set them apart. The gameplay is pretty simple and not to challengeing, but not really easy, which makes a fun and simple game to play. Elasti-girl is my fave!
